Defying economists’ expectations, job growth remained strong in November. Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 263,000 jobs from October , according to data released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. So far this year, monthly job growth has averaged 392,000, down from an average of 562,000 per month in 2021.
